May 19th Brains & Bones Event: See Inside a High Performance Home

It can be difficult to distinguish the differences between a high performance and code minimum built home, especially once the home has reached the finishes stage.  As part of our commitment to ongoing education, we created the Building Better Buildings series back in 2014, in which our “Brains and Bones” event is part of.

Brains and Bones is an opportunity to touch and see the differences of a sustainable home right in front of you.  “Visitors can actually see behind the walls and get an up-close view of an advanced-framed home. They’ll have a better understanding of what makes it different and better than a traditionally built, code minimum home,” says Wendy Stassens, Partner of Winsome Construction.

Our Saturday, May 19th Brains and Bones event will be held from 1 PM – 4 PM at 7061 NW Poverty Bend Rd in McMinnville, Oregon.  This recently framed, Willamette Valley custom home features advanced stick framing, radiant floor heating, spray foam insulation, a heat recovery ventilator, energy efficient Innotech windows and reclaimed materials from an on site walnut tree.  All of these high performance features will be visible at the event.
