Net Zero Energy Homes
Zero Net Energy Homes or Zero Energy Homes, sometimes referred to as ZEHs, are green homes that are built very airtight, are highly insulated, and utilize highly efficient appliances, heating and lighting, so their energy use is minimal. Once all aspects of the home are made as energy efficient as possible, they utilize solar photovoltaic (PV) collectors to produce sufficient electricity to meet the minimal remaining energy needs of the home.
This video shows how Zero Energy Homes can have more benefits and cost less to own than a similar home built to code. It includes interviews with homeowners enjoying zero energy bills!
